David Wayne Barnett, 32, of Canton, passed away on August 12, 2022. David worked as a carpenter, lawn service and tree trimmer; you name it, he would do it! David was an entertainer and loved to make people smile, and he will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Dr. Walter Warn Bingham

Dr. Walter Warn Bingham passed away on the evening of August 3, 2022, at Canton Oaks Nursing Home at the age of 85. He is survived by his brother, Jim Bingham of Bonham, Texas; daughter, Kym Phillips (Don) of Canton, and son, Blake Bingham (Tammi) of Cloudcroft, New Mexico. Walter had six grandchildren – Page Cherry; Kyle Phillips; Meagan McCormick; Erin Bingham; Garrett Bingham, and Morgan Bingham; four great-grandchildren – Landry Hopkins; Olivia Hopkins; Charlie Phillips, and Crew Phillips. He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 60 years, Regina McWilliams Bingham.

Services were held for Tommy Barton on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Hilliard Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at Shady Grove Cemetery in Grand Prairie. Visitation was held on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Lucille Geddie

Lucille Geddie was born December 22, 1925, in Colfax, Texas, to the late Eugene Matthews and Tillie White Matthews. She and her husband moved to Lancaster in 1950 and then settled back in Ben Wheeler in 1981 for retirement. Lucille had been a member of the Colfax Methodist Church since childhood. She enjoyed quilting and made more than 2,000 quilts, mostly baby quilts donated to underprivileged children. She was an avid reader and noted for her baking skills. She was a positive role model, making the best of what life offers and appreciating every moment.
