A graveside service for Wanda McCreary, 80, of Canton, was held Friday, April 26, 2024, at Haven of Memories in Canton with Bro. Donald Kyle offi ciating.

Mrs. McCreary passed away April 20, 2024, in Athens. She was born April 19, 1944, in Geary, Oklahoma, to Samuel Charles and Bertha Pearl Harrison Kellner.

Wanda was a riding instructor at Camp Cimarron at Coyle, Oklahoma. She and her husband, Dub, moved their family to Canton in 1980. Wanda and Dub opened Comet Printing in 1990. They were very active in the community. Wanda was a member of the Eastern Star, a charter member of the Rotary Club, on the Van Zandt County Fair Board for 15 years, and an active supporter of 4H and FFA. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Mabank.

Mrs. McCreary is preceded in death by her two husbands: James Smith and Larkin “Dub” McCreary; daughter, Jimmie Smith; and her parents: Samuel and Bertha Kellner.

Wanda is survived by her son, William C. “Bill” Smith and his wife, Kortney; granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller; adopted granddaughter, Jordan Raynor; brother, Max Kellner and wife, Linda; and sister, Phyllis Cotton.
