1957-2023

Thomas W. Stewart, 66, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023. He was born on Sept. 6, 1957, in Dallas to Frank Stewart and Bonnie Coats Stewart. He retired from the Canton Independent School District after 41 years as a bus driver and Maintenance Director. Thomas was well known for his willingness to help others, being a devoted father and riding his Harley Davidson around town. Through it all and no matter what, he always had a smile on his face. He loved listening to his classic rock music, going fishing and vacationing with family and friends in Matagorda.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Cindy Stewart, Dana Harwell and Elizabeth Lickly.

He leaves behind two daughters, Rebecca Wise and Emily Stewart; son in law, Jason Wise; grandchildren, Amber, Jaron and Ava Wise; stepmother, Paula Stewart; brother, Donnie Stewart; brother, Kenneth and his wife, Kitty; brother, David and his wife, Amy; brother, Dennis and his wife, Leah; many nephews and nieces as well as a loving extended family.

A come and go memorial reception will be held on Sept. 30, 2023, from 1-3 p.m. at The Crawford House (First United Methodist Women’s Building) located at 701 W. Goshen, Canton, Texas to celebrate his life and share memories with family and friends.
