Funeral services for Nareth Nop, 80, of Mesquite were held on August 13, 2023, at Eubank Funeral Home with Bro. Adam McCulroy officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to service.

Nareth passed away on August 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Prey Chrouk, Cambodia on January 6, 1943, to Choulam Sim and Leum Nop. What Nareth loved most in life was being around her family. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her great nephew, Nathaniel Isaac Nop and his laughter was always music to her ears. When he wasn’t around, she liked to listen to Khmer traditional music with Sin Sisamouth being one of her favorites. Nareth was an excellent example growing up of someone who was kind, sweet, understanding, forgiving, who valued family first, was hardworking and enjoyed helping others. She led by example of an aunt who was brave enough to rescue her niece and nephew from a concentration camp and reunite them with their family. An unselfish, loving aunt who was brave enough to bring herAunt Sarun Mey Nop across Thailand back to her three daughters who were living in New Jersey at the time. Nareth was also an exceptional P.E. teacher who loved to educate children and touch young lives at Eapkut and Netyoung High Schools. She tried daily to teach those students to take one step at a time, be easygoing, to ignore those who were not nice to you, hardworking never kills anyone but makes you a better person, respect others especially the elderly and to remember life is a challenge and challenging yourself will make you stronger as an individual.
