Services for Jon Martin Butler, 74, of Ben Wheeler, were held Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Pastor Martin McCray offi ciating. Interment was in Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill.

Mr. Butler passed away April 20, 2024, in Tyler. He was born August 22, 1949, in Greenfield, Ohio, to Harry Edmund and Gertrude Mae Thompson Butler.

Jon grew up in Washington Courthouse, Ohio. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After Retiring from the Army, he worked for 20 years with the U.S. Postal Service before retiring a second time. Jon enjoyed woodworking, taking nice vacations a couple times a year and working in his yard. Jon loved irritating the fool out of his grandson, Everett. He really enjoyed watching eagles fly.

Mr. Butler is preceded in death by his parents, Harry, and Gertrude Butler; and two brothers: Ronald Myles McCune and Steven E. Butler.

Jon is survived by his wife, Robin Butler; daughter, Tiffany Phillips; son, John Phillips, Jr.; two grandchildren: Everett and Ashley; two great-grandchildren: Hunter and Sarah; two sisters: Cheri Martin and Karol Thompson; and two brothers: Dale and Bruce Butler.

The pallbearers were Ben Shobe, James Johnson, Chris Johnson, Herman Johnson, Ben Shobe Jr., Caiden Mc-Coy, and Cody Hale.
