The Republican Women of Van Zandt County hosted a training on election integrity in conjunction with the Leadership Institute.

David Ferguson presented 40 attendees with strategies in planning to run an organized, focused campaign. He also discussed the need and purpose for poll watchers and workers. Ferguson reminded attendees that the people are responsible for maintaining integrity in our elections.

The training was held at the Van Zandt Country Club, and included a meal.

The next meeting of the Republican Women was held Aug. 8 at the American National Bank Conference Room on Hwy 243 in Canton. The evening began with refreshments and networking at 5:30 p.m., followed by the meeting at 6 p.m.

Additionally, plans are also underway for an Appreciation Reception Oct. 7 at the Blackwell House in Canton for Don Kirkpatrick, Sandra Plaster and Tim West. It will be a come and go between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
